NEW YORK, NY -- Clean Air-Cool Planet (www.cleanair-coolplanet.org) is carrying its message straight into the heart of American commerce in its second regional conference, Global Warming Solutions 2005, scheduled for June 8 and 9 in New York City. Clean Air-Cool Planet is a regional non-profit with offices in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Conference details are available at www.cleanair-coolplanet.org.

Global Warming Solutions 2005:

Navigating the Risks and Opportunities of Global Warming

The conference will help businesses and investors prepare for future regulations, take advantage of emerging opportunities, and understand the growing body of knowledge about global warming and its impacts locally and around the world. The steering committee includes some of the nation's leading experts on global warming and energy who have signed on to help Clean Air-Cool Planet Executive Director Adam Markham assemble a conference that will speak to the concerns of corporations in key sectors, including manufacturing, retail, energy generation and financial services.

"Helping businesses and the private sector save money, improve performance in the eyes of customers and employees, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions accounts for much of our success in our first five years," explained Markham. "In order for us to serve more corporations and financial interests more effectively, we brought our second conference to New York."

The conference is attracting California EPA Secretary Alan Lloyd, Exelon CEO John Rowe, and Pennsylvania DEP Secretary Kathleen McGinty, among others.

Clean Air Cool Planet business partner, The Timberland Company, agreed early on to help sponsor the conference. Timberland is a global leader in the design, engineering and marketing of premium-quality footwear, apparel and accessories.

CSRWire is also sponsoring the conference. CSRwire is the newswire service for corporate social responsibility.

Confirmed speakers so far include Alan Lloyd, Secretary of the California Environmental Protection Agency; Phil Jessup, Executive Director, Toronto Atmospheric Fund; Kathleen A. McGinty, Secretary, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection; John W. Rowe, President and CEO, Exelon Corporation; Jeffrey Swartz, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Timberland Company; Philip W. Sharp, former US. Congressman (D-IN) and Congressional Chair of the National Commission on Energy Policy.

Early registration runs through March 31. For conference details including program, exhibit space and sponsorship opportunities www.cleanair-coolplanet.org.

Building on Success

Clean Air Cool Planet organized "Climate Solutions for the Northeast" in 2003 in Hartford, Connecticut. The first attracted over 260 conference participants from 13 states and 3 Canadian provinces from a spectrum of interests, including the Nuclear Energy Institute and the Public Interest Research Group. Shaw's Supermarkets received the Cool Planet Award, a recognition its chief executive, Sir Peter Davis, called "the highlight of 2003 ..." in the company's annual environmental report.
