CHICAGO ― Companies That Care is calling on companies throughout the country to participate in its fourth annual Companies That Care Day on March 16, 2006. This day will kick off a month-long national initiative that focuses on supporting Mississippi schools and children devastated by Hurricane Katrina by replenishing lost or ruined athletic and playground equipment.

Companies That Care is a national, not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the well-being of employees and communities by encouraging businesses to integrate the 10 Characteristics of Companies That Care into their daily business practices.

"We are celebrating companies throughout the United States who set the higher standard of helping their communities thrive and encouraging their employees to do the same", said Marci Koblenz, founder of Companies That Care. "Companies and individuals working together can make a tangible difference in the lives of the thousands of children and families trying to rebuild their lives after Hurricane Katrina."

Companies can participate in Spring Back to Life by directly purchasing school equipment at www.companies-that-care.org, making a financial contribution towards the purchase of equipment, or collecting and shipping items directly to the designated schools.

"Whether companies celebrate Companies That Care Day through participating in Spring Back to Life or in another way that is meaningful to both their organization and community, we applaud and encourage their efforts," said Koblenz.
