CHICAGO - The Center for Companies That Care (CTC) has named 17 organizations to its Third Annual Honor Roll list, it was announced today by Marci Koblenz, co-founder and president of the organization.

Those awarded this prestigious honor include: Baxter Credit Union; The Care of Trees; CHAN Healthcare Auditors; Convergint Technologies LLC; Delnor-Community Health System; FPL Group; Grant Thornton LLP; Health Grades, Inc.; KPMG LLP; Office Depot, Inc.; Opto Technology, Inc.; PJM Interconnection; Rauland-Borg Corporation; TAP Pharmaceutical Products Inc.; The Supply Room Companies, Inc.; Triangle Printers Inc.; and University HealthSystem Consortium.

These Honor Roll recipients, located throughout the country, are selected for their deep commitment to elevating the quality of the work environment for their employees and the quality of life for people in the broader community as well as adhering to the 10 characteristics inherent to a "Company That Cares."

The Honor Roll is selected by an independent panel of veteran professionals in a variety of industries. Each of the organizations named to the Honor Roll sustains a work environment founded on dignity and respect for all employees, develops great leaders, communicates standards of ethics and integrity and participates in initiatives that support the community, among other outstanding attributes.

"Being named to the Honor Roll is quite an accomplishment today because it requires adhering to not just a few, but to all of the 10 Characteristics of caring companies. While we, indeed, applaud this year's recipients, we are pleased that many more companies are on the journey toward being a Company That Cares. We look forward to the Honor Roll continuing to grow over the years as more companies consistently practice the 10 Characteristics," says Koblenz.

This recognition is announced annually on the third Thursday each March in concert with the Annual Companies That Care Day. This year the Annual Day will kick off a two-week national initiative that focuses its efforts on supporting children and education through the Terrific Tales program or Teachers Know Best initiative.

Founded in 2002, Companies That Care is a national, not-for-profit organization founded to encourage, celebrate and sustain businesses and organizations that prize employees and are committed to on-going community service, through its core components of its annual Companies That Care Day, Honor Roll and Exchange.
