Minneapolis -- In light of corporate wrongdoings and scandal-grabbing headlines, public distrust continues to climb. To ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, record numbers of corporations are now appointing chief compliance officers and ethics and business conduct professionals to develop and oversee corporate compliance programs. In fact, Christian & Timbers placed Chief Compliance Officer third in its Top 10 Hot Jobs of 2005.

As companies are struggling to understand and employ corporate compliance initiatives, the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) is offering a forum for discussion and a panel of expert speakers at the 2005 Corporate Compliance Workshops in four U.S. cities.

The May SCCE Workshop series includes guidance from compliance professionals from top U.S. corporations including Boeing, Altria Group, Inc. and GE Transportation. The issues of non-profit organizations also are represented; speakers include a compliance professional from Catholic Healthcare West. Further insight will be shared by compliance industry experts from the Center for Ethical Business Cultures and a member of the Advisory Committee to the United States Sentencing Commission (USSC).

Topics for the one-day workshops will include local case studies, discussion regarding failure to comply, USSC updates, management and accountability issues, Sarbanes-Oxley hurdles, and guidance to help professionals set up and maintain effective compliance and ethics programs. For post-workshop support, all attendees also will receive "The Complete Compliance and Ethics Manual" free (a $315 value).

SCCE's 2005 Corporate Compliance Workshops will be held in New York City on May 16, Cincinnati, OH on May 17, Minneapolis on May 23, and in Chicago on May 24. More information on workshops and accommodations can be found at www.corporatecompliance.org/cart/wshpBroch.pdf. Each workshop provides continuing education, information can be found at www.corporatecompliance.org/cart/wshpBroch.pdf.
