WICHITA, KS - March 26, 2008 - Handyman Matters of Wichita announced today that it is offsetting its carbon emissions with Carbonfund.org, one of the country's leading carbon offset organizations. Handyman Matters of Wichita is offsetting 70 metric tons of CO2 by supporting Carbonfund.org's renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation projects. By joining Carbonfund.org's CarbonFree(R) Program, Handyman Matters of Wichita establishes itself as an environmental leader in the Wichita community and demonstrates the proactive steps it is taking in the fight against global climate change.

In the course of providing professional handyman service to the Wichita area, Handyman craftsmen drive miles across the city to work on individual projects. By offsetting the carbon emissions from this travel with Carbonfund.org, Handyman Matters is taking responsibility for its climate impact and educating its customers about climate change.

"By joining the CarbonFree Small Business Program, we take responsibility for how we affect our environment by doing something to help," said Phil Davis, CEO of Handyman Matters. "As an employer, I tell my employees, 'I can only expect you to take as good care of our customers as I take care of you.' The same holds true for the world we live in. We can only expect the earth to take care of us as well as we take care of it."

"For a business like professional handyman services, it's vital to travel to where the customer is," said Eric Carlson, Executive Director of Carbonfund.org. "This makes reducing greenhouse gas emissions more difficult, but thanks to our CarbonFree program, Handyman Matters of Wichita can make the choice to offset its environmental impact. We're very excited about this partnership."
