--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Coleman Natural Foods:

WHAT:

Mel Coleman, Jr., Chairman, Coleman Natural Foods, comes to
Hartford to share the message of an unprecedented new American
conservation program involving national and local corporate
partners, along with public participation: A decade-long 20
Million Tree Planting Challenge; specifically addressing the
critical need to restore America's forests, and why (and how)
to salvage the rapidly dwindling supplies of domestic farm and
ranch land. No similar environmental program of this size or
scope has ever been undertaken by any organization or
individual. Together with the U.S. Forest Service, American
Forests (AF) and American Farmland Trust (AFT), trees will be
planted in every state throughout the country, continuing to
restore and improve the environment during the next 10 years.
"The Coleman Eco-Project 2015" launched in Washington, DC with
the planting of the first of 20 million trees at the Whitten
Building on the Washington Mall on Arbor Day (April 29).

Additionally, Mr. Coleman will be addressing area business
leaders and Rotarians in the Hartford area about a very
important topic to businesspeople today across the country:
"Doing Good While Doing Well." He shares a message of the TWO
corporate bottom lines in today's economy - profitable growth,
and the need for corporate responsibility.

Additional Details

The Eco-Project 2015 began with Coleman's initial commitment to plant one million trees, posing a challenge to companies and individuals to help plant nine million more. As a primary partner, the US Forest Service agreed to match every tree planted by Coleman, its retailers, customers and the public - for a total of 20 million new trees. In addition, education and training programs to protect 100 million acres of working farms and ranches is also being undertaken.

Natural/organic and conventional grocery retailers across the nation, including Wild Oats Markets, Dorothy Lane Markets, Knowlan's, Whole Foods Markets and select A&P stores, are inviting customers to make a one-dollar contribution at store checkouts to the Coleman Eco-Project 2015. One tree will be planted for each dollar contribution made to the challenge, matched with a second tree planted by the US Forest Service (for the same one dollar contribution). A Coleman product purchase is never required, and Coleman contributions to this project are not contingent upon sales.

The U.S. Forest Service plants the trees with the resources provided by American Forests. Funds can be contributed to the Coleman Eco-Project 2015 at: www.americanforests.org or by a link from www.colemannatural.com.
