GOLDEN, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 6, 2006--For the second consecutive year, Coors has received a perfect score on The Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index and has been recognized as one of the "Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality." The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is the educational branch of America's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender political organization and its Corporate Equality Index is widely recognized as an assessment of corporate performance based on discriminatory employment policies, same-sex domestic partner insurance, diversity training, employee resource groups, marketing and corporate social responsibility.

"Coors is honored to receive this recognition from the HRC Foundation," said Frits van Paasschen, president and chief executive officer for Coors Brewing Company. "We will continue to strengthen our company by supporting our diverse and talented employees, as well as the communities with whom we do business."

In 1978, Coors was one of the first major corporations and the first in the alcohol beverage industry to institute a non-discrimination policy, protecting employees regardless of sexual orientation. Coors was also one of the first companies in 1986 to develop a compassionate and consistent policy with regard to employees infected with the HIV virus or AIDS. And, in 1995, Coors became the first brewer to offer same-sex partner benefits. Additionally, Coors supports a wide range of community groups, pride events and health and AIDS causes nationwide on an annual basis.
