BOULDER, Colo.- When Tim DeBoom of the Tri-Dubai professional triathlon team hits the water at Ironman France on June 19 against many of the world's top triathletes, he'll be swimming, biking and running for more than just himself and his team. In keeping with Tri-Dubai's dual-mission of sponsoring the world's top triathletes and supporting charities, a podium appearance by DeBoom in Nice will net a donation from Tri-Dubai to the Boulder-based Tyler Hamilton Foundation (THF).

DeBoom has been a long-time supporter of THF that promotes youth achievement on and off the bike through organizations such as the Rocky Mountain Cycling Education Foundation (RMCEF) and a separate mission to combat Multiple Sclerosis.

"I'm really looking forward to racing in Nice and for the opportunity to make a difference with a very deserving charity," said DeBoom. "It is important now more than ever that we continue to help support the worthwhile efforts of this Foundation that gives kids a fighting chance."
Since the Tri-Dubai professional triathlon team was assembled in January, it has placed a competitor on the podium in all seven races, including victories at Ironman New Zealand, Ironman Arizona, Wildflower Triathlon and the Disney Half Ironman. In all, more than $20,000 has been contributed by the Tri-Dubai team to deserving charities.

With the winners of the past five men's Ironman World Championships, and 44 Ironman championships to its credit, Tri-Dubai (www.TriDubai.com) has assembled the most potent collection of elite triathletes the sport has ever seen on a single team including; Tim and Nicole DeBoom, Simon Lessing, Chris Legh, Kate Major, Heather Fuhr, Cameron Brown, Normann Stadler, Peter Reid and Joanna Lawn.

Sponsored by the city of Dubai, UAE, under the patronage of Dubai Crown Prince, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Tri-Dubai represents a new paradigm for the support of elite athletes. Not content to simply assemble the best possible team, The Human Interest Group, a newly formed endurance sports management and marketing firm, added another dimension to the team's international appeal - a charity partner program. Each Tri-Dubai athlete selects a charity for every race and a podium appearance by the athlete results in a charitable contribution.
