New Website Aims to Promote Enterprise Governance

Following the launch of a successful book on Corporate Governance, co-authors of "Beyond Governance" (published by John Wiley in February 2005) Jeremy Roche, Martin Fahy and Anastasia Weiner today launched a new web-site to provide a knowledge base, analysis and practical advice to business leaders as they face mounting regulation and legislation.

BeyondGovernance.com is a unique website that explores the concept of Enterprise Governance - an emerging framework which aims to show the link between Performance, Conformance and Corporate Responsibility and demonstrate that by addressing them in a co-coordinated manner, organisations will be able to deliver sustainable value. This extends the proposition explored in the book Beyond Governance: Creating Corporate Value through Performance, Conformance and Responsibility.

The website - www.BeyondGovernance.com - seeks to investigate best practice as well as generate debate around topics such as performance management, shared services, business partnering and sustainable business. Its focus is on practical, issues-led features, profiles of leading executives, and news from around the world.

"We take up the themes of the book, Beyond Governance, and aim to show practical examples of how organisations are achieving success in applying Enterprise Governance principles", said Anastasia Weiner, the book's co-author and editor of the website. "We look at how systems, processes and people can be deployed to address strategic business issues and build sustainable performance."

On its publication, Beyond Governance received a number of endorsements including:

"In the days of corporate scandals and shrinking investor confidence this is a timely book. Exploring the connections between shareholder value, corporate governance and corporate responsibility this book recognises the crucial role that skills, systems and people play in delivering Enterprise Governance for the 21st Century"

Professor Andy Neely, Chairman of the Centre for Business Performance, Cranfield School of Management and author of The Performance Prism.

www.BeyondGovernance.com is building an editorial advisory board made up of senior experts from around industry. The team intends to grow the site to become a significant centre of debate and best practice for business leaders, and is keen to attract input and articles from other sources in addition to its own unique editorial input.

It has already received input and support from around the industry, including CIMA, ATOS Origin and CODA.
