While most of the companies on this year's list were headquartered in the Washington metropolitan area, Washingtonian recognized nine companies, including EyakTek, whose headquarters were outside the metropolitan area. As verification of information submitted, Washingtonian also conducted a survey of EyakTek's employees regarding their satisfaction with EyakTek as an employer.
To be selected among the number of companies considered for this prestigious list, EyakTek described its unusually high employee retention rate, its strong employee benefits, and, its community outreach activities in support of Washington, D.C. organizations and the Alaska Native community from which the company is derived
