CULIACAN, Mexico, Desarrolladora Homex, S.A. de C.V. (NYSE: HXM) (BMV: HOMEX) (Homex, or the Company) announced that it has received two awards for its Social Responsibility practices. The Company was recognized by the Mexican Confederation of Industrialists (CONCAMIN) with an Ethics and Values in Industry award for the category of Best Social Responsibility Practices. It was also designated by the Philanthropic Center of Mexico (CEMEFI) as a Socially Responsible Enterprise.

The award for Best Social Responsibility Practices recognizes a company that has achieved the highest level of compliance with the CONCAMIN standards for ethics and corporate values, as well as adherence to the basic principles of universal human rights, labor relations, environmental preservation and corporate best practices.

The President of Mexico, Vicente Fox, presented the award to Gerardo de Nicolas, Homex's Chief Executive Officer, during CONCAMIN's annual meeting held on November 25 in Mexico City.

"Homex embraces the responsibility for promoting ethics and values in the industrial sector and acting in an exemplary manner, while striving to succeed in this business. We act with respect for the values of people, communities and the environment," de Nicolas commented. "We are honored by this recognition, which is evidence of our dedication to social responsibility."

Homex was also recognized by the CEMEFI with the SER (Socially Responsible Enterprise) designation, which it grants to companies with the best Social Responsibility practices. The SER distinction recognizes organizations that successfully incorporate a social project within their company objectives. Homex participated with its program "Education for Homex's Construction Workers" implemented in conjunction with INEA, a government institution dedicated to adult education, at 18 of the Company's branch offices and held in 22 locations. This program, which fulfills the requirements outlined in the Global Compact for recognizing the best social responsibility practices, givesall construction workers at Homex an opportunity to obtain an elementary and/or high school certification, and also contributes to an increase in the overall education level in Mexico.

At the ceremony, which took place in Mexico City on November 23, 16 companies were recognized with the distinction. Monica Lafaire, Vice President of Regional Offices at Homex, received the award on behalf of the Company and as head of the program.

"We will continue working to be a company that goes beyond legal obligations by establishing policies and programs that are aligned with our commitment to improve the quality of life for our workers, not only on the job but outside of work, too," commented Lafaire. "We are also committed to maintaining this high level of social responsibility, not only to our communities, but also toward the well-being of our own employees."
