Submitted by Cereplast, Inc.

HAWTHORNE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 26, 2006--Cereplast Inc.
(OTCBB:CERP), producer of resins made from renewable and biodegradable sources, announced today that it has signed an agreement with a Brazilian plastics manufacturer. IraPlast Ltda, located in Iracemapolis, outside of Sao Paulo, will represent Cereplast in Brazil for sales of its resin.

"Cereplast's expansion into Brazil reflects the company's continued growth in response to current and future demand for bio-based plastic products," said Frederic Scheer, President and CEO of Cereplast. "While this is just the beginning of Cereplast's international expansion, we are especially pleased to be present in Brazil, a country which has demonstrated its leadership in creating energy independence by switching from fossil fuels to ethanol. It is clear that Brazil understands that the next frontier for energy independence is a plastic industry that uses alternative plastics such as Cereplast."

IraPlast will import Cereplast's resin for several of its clients, which include Sherwin-Williams, Akzo Nobel, Gymcol, Brasilux and Starplast. IraPlast has already received inquiries from other large companies in Brazil, especially in the cosmetics industry. Founded in 1988, IraPlast manufactures injection-molded plastic components for a variety of industries, including automotive, cosmetics, chemicals and food processing.

Cereplast bio-resins are made from annually renewable resources and formulated in a patented and proprietary manufacturing process that incorporates starch and other biodegradable components, including PLA from NatureWorks(R) LLC.
