HAWTHORNE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 6, 2006--Cereplast, Inc.
(OTCBB:CERP), the producer of proprietary bio-based resins which are used as substitutes for petroleum-based plastics, announced today that the Company was featured in an article published on February 1, 2006 in Plastics & Rubber Asia Magazine.

Titled "PLA proves it is no more greenhorn," the article describes how resins made from renewable resources are now fierce contenders in the world of conventional plastic. Cereplast is featured as one of the world's largest manufacturers of resins using PLA as a feedstock.

NatureWorks LLC leads the pack, followed by Cereplast, with its recently opened 25 million lbs/year plant. The article further describes the strong market growth and new applications for bio-based resins.

Cereplast resins can be used on traditional equipment, do not require any investment from conventional plastic converters and are competitive with traditional petroleum-based plastic resin. Cereplast offers resins for different applications, from injection molding to thermoforming, extrusion coating, profile extrusion, etc.
