BOURNE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 16, 2006--iScienceProject, the leader in portable data logger technology for K-12 science education, today announced that it has made $500,000 worth of its HOBO(R) Data Loggers available to U.S. schools on a two-month, temporary-loan basis.

HOBO data loggers, which are currently used by more than 25,000 teachers and students nationwide, are portable, electronic recording devices that monitor temperature, humidity, light, and other types of data.

Accompanying software, which runs on PC and Macintosh computers, converts data collected with HOBO loggers into time-stamped graphs.

HOBO data loggers are used in a broad range of hands-on science projects and experiments, from monitoring temperature and lighting conditions inside school buildings to tracking climate conditions in birdhouses.

"Offering free equipment loans through our iScienceProject division is our way of supporting science education," said Mark McSherry, president of Massachusetts-based Onset Computer Corporation.

"We hope that through the use of our devices, students will increase their computer literacy, sharpen critical thinking skills, and improve test scores in both science and math."

Teachers interested in borrowing HOBO data loggers can sign up on the iScienceProject website at www.iscienceproject.com.
