London- economie, the international organisation dedicated to the education, promotion and development of Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) worldwide, today announced that CARE International UK and Charity Bank will all be speaking at its flagship annual event, eco6. eco6 is economie's flagship annual conference aimed at raising global awareness and transform attitudes towards the fast growing economic movements of SRI and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

economie was set up in order to achieve its aim of creating a world where investment with social, environmental and ethical consideration is the universal norm. The conference will also encourage experts to make their advice accessible to the public and will demonstrate that ethics and profits go hand-in-hand and can shape a mass movement for change.

The new speakers are:
Geoffrey Dennis, Chief Executive of CARE International UK
Malcolm Hayday, Chief Executive of Charity Bank

"Geoffrey Dennis, Chief Executive of CARE International UK, said, "CARE International is working to bring about lasting change to benefit individuals and families in the poorest communities in the world. Our grass-roots work in 70 countries forms a solid basis from which we aim to influence policy decisions at all levels. eco6 is a great opportunity to reach the decision-makers of corporations that have the influence to create a climate of change. eco6 promises to be a groundbreaking event and I am pleased to represent CARE International UK and support this message of global economic change."

Malcolm Hayday, Chief Executive of Charity Bank, commented, "eco6's aim of raising awareness of SRI and CSR fits in perfectly with Charity Bank's objectives to change perceptions of how personal and corporate wealth can provide finance for the benefit of society, and not just for business profit or self-interest. The opportunity provided by eco6 to promote discussion and raise awareness of SRI and CSR is ground-breaking for the global financial industries. Charity Bank hopes to be part of the eco6 conference for many years to come, and looks forward to witnessing the change in attitudes that the event will generate."

International speakers at eco6 include:
Prof. Hans Ruh, Institute for Social Ethics at Zurich University
Amy Domini, Founder of Domini Social Investments
Noreena Hertz, bestselling international author and academic
Deborah Doane, Head Corporate Accountability at the New Economics Foundation Dr Kevin Money, Associate Director of the Centre for Organisation Reputation and Relationships (CORR)
John Renesch, business futurist and writer
Dr Humayon Dar, Managing Director of Dar Al Istithmar London, Deutsche Bank's global Sharia advisory service

"The participation of Charity Bank and CARE International UK demonstrates that eco6's aims are pertinent to all organisations and that there is a true desire in the global community to really change attitudes of how companies operate," said Brian Spence, founder of economie, "Each of these organisations brings a unique and worthwhile message to eco6 delegates, and their support is crucial to ensuring change occurs."

Sponsors of eco6 include Ernst & Young (Switzerland), the Stakeholder Investment Company and SVN Europe, Social Venture Network Europe.

eco6 will be held in Zurich on 9th and 10th October 2006. The conference aims to attract national and multi-national corporations, financial institutions, private investors, financial advisors, charities and NGOs. The themes, "SRI - Just Another Marketing Ploy?" and "CSR - Fact or Fiction", will seek to address attitudes to these economic movements and to promote channels that facilitate social and environmental change.
