What: Grow: Design for Sustainability
A day-long conference on the business incentive for choosing
sustainable design principles and practices. Featuring industry
leaders from the worlds of business, print, product, packaging,
architecture and communications design.
Presented by the New York Chapter of AIGA.

WHY: A major transformation is underway in business and society.
After years of discussion but limited action, leaders of industry are
finally turning their attention to the state of the planet and are
shifting their focus towards business practices that address the
increasing realities of climate change, social concerns and global
citizenship. Tremendous business growth opportunities await
those who position themselves strategically to meet this new
global trend towards sustainability.

When Saturday 25 March 2006
The conference program begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 5:30
p.m., followed by an hour-long cocktail reception.

Throughout the day, there will be opportunities to network with
other eco-conscious design professionals in the Learning Center
while enjoying gourmet organic food by The Cleaver Co. and
deserts from Build A Green Bakery.

About AIGA History
Founded in 1914, AIGA is the largest organization representing
graphic design in North America. Frederick Goudy and Alfred
Stieglitz, among its founding members, came together to share
their commitment and passion for the nobility the profession.

"Graphic design should be recognized as the purposeful
arrangement of text and images to communicate more effectively
with dignity, elegance and impact; and accomplished with the
highest expectations for the craft of production."

New York Chapter
AIGA New York is a forum for the exploration of ideas, issues and
anxieties relevant to the field of design. The chapter is one of 55
in North America.

Fees and access Conference access
Registration includes admission to all presentations and the Post-
Conference Reception, featuring generous snacks and drinks.
Partial conference registration is not available.

Press attendance Passes
One press pass per publication can be made available. The pass
provides access to all presentations and the Post-Conference
Reception. Contact the NY chapter administrator with your
request.

As a nonprofit educational organization, AIGA New York cannot
