Itasca, IL - The Robert W. Campbell Award Program Committee invites organizations from around the world to participate in the 2006 competition for this international award for business excellence in safety, health and environmental management.

The call for applications seeks successful business models from organizations that excel in both SH&E and business performance. Case studies must demonstrate how measurable achievement in SH&E performance is linked to productivity, sustainability and other measures of business performance.

Final applications for the award must be postmarked by June 30. Submittal requirements and other information about the award are available at www.CampbellAward.org or CampbellAward@nsc.org.

Winning success stories are published and showcased at various conferences throughout the year. The Campbell Award winner will be announced at the National Safety Council's 94th Annual Congress and Expo being held Nov. 3-10 in San Diego.

Companies compete within separate size categories. Category I organizations are enterprises with more than 1,000 employees, and subsidiaries of those enterprises; Category II organizations employ fewer than 1,000.

The award is administered by the National Safety Council and underwritten by Exxon Mobil Corporation through its philanthropic Foundation. In addition, the award is supported by a broad network of international organizations that provide worldwide outreach.

Past winners of the Campbell Award include 2004 recipient Noble Corporation and last year's winner, Johnson & Johnson.
