GRANBY, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 2006--GoodWorks Insurance announced today that its Granby branch office will donate $1,500 toward a celebration for Granby Memorial High School students. To fund the balance of the celebration's cost, GoodWorks Insurance went to local businesses and vigorously rallied their additional support and donations.

The high school was recently awarded the prestigious Vanguard Award of Excellence, an honor only one other Connecticut school has received this past year. GoodWorks Insurance put forth the effort to find fellow supporters so that Granby Memorial High School could be honored for their hard work.

"The students at Granby Memorial High are a shining example of the level of education and performance that can be achieved with hard work from the students and outstanding teaching from educators," said Joseph L. Grochmal, president and CEO of GoodWorks Insurance. "To help the community celebrate this milestone, GoodWorks will donate 25 percent of the cost of the celebration students have so clearly earned."

The celebration will be held after school on Monday, September 25, at High Meadow recreation center in Granby, Conn. at 311 N. Granby Rd. (Rt. 189).

This donation is part of GoodWorks Insurance's business philosophy that believes there is purpose beyond profit.
