FREMONT, CA - February 16, 2007 - Lam Research Corporation (NASDAQ: LRCX), a major supplier of wafer fabrication equipment and services to the world's semiconductor industry, has been named number 20 on the 2007 "100 Best Corporate Citizens" list by CRO magazine. Naming Lam for the third consecutive year, the CRO list recognizes companies with exemplary practices in the area of corporate social responsibility.

Published annually, CRO creates the list by evaluating more than 1,100 of the largest U.S. publicly traded companies. Companies are ranked based on their performance in serving eight stakeholder categories: shareholders, community, governance, diversity, employees, environment, human rights, and product.

"We're proud that Lam Research has been recognized by CRO for excellence in corporate values and ethics for three years running and for our climb this year to the number 20 spot," stated Steve Newberry, president and chief executive officer of Lam. "Our achievement is a testament to Lam’s employees, who embody our values-based culture through their interactions with customers, suppliers, the community and the environment."

The 100 Best Corporate Citizens list was developed by Business Ethics magazine, which was incorporated last year into The CRO (www.thecro.com), a premier membership organization for Corporate Responsibility Officers.
