Michael Arny, President of Leonardo Academy

Madison, Wisconsin, - April 8, 2009 - Leonardo Academy has announced that its president, Michael Arny, will speak at the Leadership in Green Building Lecture Series in Singapore on April 8, 2009. This third installment of the series will focus on motivating the industry towards environmental sustainability in buildings and providing a platform for practitioners to gain insights from international award-winning projects. Michael Arny will present "LEED for Existing Buildings: Strategic Issues and a Presidential Case Study," featuring the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas, as the case study. The presentation will outline LEED-EB (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design - Existing Buildings) implementation and certification, and the process of successfully transitioning from LEED-NC (New Construction) to LEED-EB. Leonardo Academy was selected by the Clinton Foundation in 2007 to manage the LEED-EB certification process and greening of operations at the Clinton Library, and supported the Library in achieving LEED-EB Platinum certification that same year.

Michael Arny speaks throughout the country on LEED-EB and other sustainability practices.

LEED for Existing Buildings - LEED-EB provides a framework for achieving green improvements in all existing commercial buildings. Buildings certified under the LEED-NC program can also continually improve environmental performance by seeking LEED-EB re-certification.
