WHAT:
Mrs. Laura Bush publicly embraces Jumpstart's mission of setting every child in America on a path for success in school and life, through early reading and learning activities. To engage the country in its mission, this national nonprofit has created Jumpstart's Read for the Record Campaign taking place on August 24, when Jumpstart and its partners will celebrate the learning potential of every child by inviting adults across America to read The Little Engine That Could, the official Campaign book, with young children. Jumpstart's Read for the Record Campaign will set the world record for the number of children reading the same book in a single day with an adult in support of early childhood education.

Taped in her seat at the White House, Mrs. Laura Bush encourages the public to invest in early reading with young children by helping to set a world record in support of early education.
