EDISON, NJ. - July 30, 2008 - The one-day Fall 2008 CRO Conference will move from Chicago's Union League Club September 10 to the Stephens Convention Center at O'Hare on October 29 to take advantage of the sustainability headliner keynotes of the two-day SustainPro Conference, it was announced today. In addition, all CRO Conference attendees on October 29 will be able to participate in the second day of the SustainPro Conference October 30 at no additional cost. CRO Conferences are open to CRO corporate members or individual attendees who register online at www.thecro.com/conferences.

CRO Conference attendees will share 3 opening-day Keynotes with attendees of the SustainPro Conference, billed as the world’s largest operations-level corporate sustainability event. At 9:00am, the opening Keynote is a leader in fostering innovations benefiting humanity through competition, Dr. Peter Diamandis M.D. CEO of the XPrize Foundation. XPrize first captured the world's attention in 2004 when the Burt Rutan-led team flew the world's first private spaceship to win the $10 million Anzari XPrize. Among the other XPrizes are the $10 million Progressive Insurance Automotive XPrize, and new Energy and Environment, Education, Life Sciences and Global Development XPrizes. At 9:40am, Terry Tamminen, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's Environment and California EPA Chief and author of "Lives Per Gallon: The True Cost of Our Oil Addiction" will address what he calls "The Corporate Climate Change Action Plan." And at 10:20am, Senator John Edwards, the first "carbon neutral" Presidential candidate and advocate for renewable energy and environmental sustainability will address "Thinking and Acting Green-The Best Business and Economic Strategies for the 21st Century," including regulatory changes he sees coming.

Following the 3 opening keynotes on October 29, CRO Conference attendees will continue with their strategy-level GRC, CSR, and sustainability agenda in the adjacent ballroom, featuring CRO's traditionally-strong features including the CRO Magazine CEO of the Year Award Presentation, panels, expert presenters and networking events. CRO Conference Chicago sponsors as of today include: Grant Thornton, Deloitte, Intel, Hydropoint, ERS Global, Equilibrium, Panel Intelligence, Giving Tree, Neenah Paper, and the US EPA. Following the October 29 Conference events, there will be an invitation-only dinner for up to 100 of North America's top Corporate Responsibility Officers to update the methodology of CRO Magazine's 100 Best Corporate Citizens List for 2009. The invitation-only 100 Best Methodology workshop will continue on October 30 from 9am to 2pm.
