Gregory Unruh, Ph.D. and Director of the Lincoln Center for Ethics in Global Management at Thunderbird will lead program

PHOENIX - GLENDALE, AZ - March 13, 2007 — Business's traditional social contract is dead. In today's global economy creating jobs, paying taxes and making profits is not enough to meet society’s expectations. Responding to these changes, Thunderbird’s Corporate Responsibility program will prepare participants to manage the risks coming from shifting social demands and develop strategies to turn those risks to business advantage.

Taught by Dr. John O'Connell, AIG Professor of Risk Assessment, and Dr. Gregory Unruh, Director of the Lincoln Center for Ethics in Global Management, this program will cover three days at Thunderbird’s campus in Glendale, Arizona. Participants will receive a certificate of completion worth two Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

Learning outcomes from the program will include:

  • Learn how to understand and manage the growing demands for greater corporate responsibility

  • Develop strategies to handle the social and environmental risks inherent in global business and supply chains

  • Prepare your organization to respond to crises and communicate effectively with the public

  • Identify techniques for engaging with stakeholders in mutually beneficial partnerships

  • Learn how innovative approaches can convert risks into opportunities for simultaneously improving both social responsibility and business competitiveness
