Boston, Mass. - Values-based leadership expert Dr. Mark S. Albion will be touring the U.S. from September 6 - November 15, speaking at over 30 U.S. business schools and several Social Venture Network (SVN ) events. Mark's speaking events are set up primarily through Net Impact, of which he is co-founder. Net Impact is a global network of over 14,000 MBAs and business professionals at 130 U.S. business schools and in 17 countries. Social Venture Network members will also be providing speaking venues.

Albion's book, True to Yourself, is the second in an eight book series to be published by the end of 2007 through a partnership of Social Venture Network and Berrett-Koehler Publishers. All of Albion's books and monthly ML2 e-newsletter writings serving 87 countries, can be found at www.makingalife.com.

Albion has spoken at over 100 business schools on five continents, primarily on the topic of leading a life of service while using business as a force for social and economic justice. A member of SVN since 1989, and a lifetime member since the founding of Net Impact, Albion credits these two organizations for having made a tremendous impact on his life.

"When I met SVN co-founder Josh Mailman in 1989, it was as if I had found the home I had been looking for since leaving Harvard. Josh opened up so many doors and relationships to help me find my path, which led to our creation of what was then called Students for Responsible Business (now Net Impact) in 1993. I have Josh and the SVN members to thank for this second half of my life." (Albion's book is dedicated to Josh Mailman.)

He says that Net Impact restored his faith in our future, and the MBA students' energy re-vitalized him to be part of the solution. "I was a bit down on MBAs when we began formulating Net Impact in 1990, but in the first couple of years, I traveled to as many as 40 business schools and met some of the most amazing young people I've ever known. They became my heroes, my exemplars, of how to make a difference. It's now my privilege to give back to Net Impact in any way I can."

U.S. Tour Schedule

Albion's schedule is available at his website, just got to calendar of events. Most of the events are open to the public and are held in the afternoon or evening. Mornings are reserved for media time. He particularly wants to mention a special New York City event Friday September 8 at 6:00 pm, held at Chocolat Michel Cluizel, owned by SVN founding board member Richard Perl. A little chocolate and champagne and networking for a limit of 75 people. RSVP's are required to Sage Friedman at sage@chocolatmichelcluizel-na.com.
