LUGANO, SWITZERLAND- January 31, 2007 "“ Expansion of global economic activity is driving escalating environmental and social problems. These seriously threaten future generations and create growing financial problems for firms. This is driving the mainstreaming of ethics as a major business and academic concern.

During the 20th Century, ethics were often seen as tangential to the primary purpose of business. In the 21st Century, ethics and responsible business practices will become a primary driver of business success. To ensure high ethical performance, there is a need for new ethical tools and protocols that facilitate implementation and provide greater relevance and benefit to business and other organizations.

In support of this, the University of Lugano in beautiful Lugano, Switzerland, will host a rather unique learning event from June 18 to 29 2007. Leading academics and business professionals will present and discuss a broad spectrum of advanced ideas on business and whole system ethics. Strong emphasis will be placed on practical application in business and other settings. Numerous ethical tools and implementation protocols will be presented.

There will be ample opportunity for dialogue among participants and presenters. Participants will also have many opportunities to consider how practical ethical approaches might be implemented in their own professional settings.

The event is open to professionals from business and government, researchers, and graduate students at the Masters or Ph.D. level with experience in applied disciplines such as business and public sector management, information systems design, industrial and systems engineering, environmental design and management, operational research, consultancy, public policy analysis, social planning, evaluation research, and others.

Formal application is required. Application deadline: 31 March 2007.

Fee: Euro 950.
