ALPHARETTA, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 16, 2006--Hurricane Katrina changed the face of New Orleans when it struck the U.S. Gulf coast last year. Many families are still rebuilding their lives after being displaced by the horrific storm and need support as the holidays approach.

Atlanta based, Regency Hospital Company, an organization committed to giving people their lives back through long-term acute care, recognizes those needs that still exist and and strives to continue to help with recovery through its foundation, Regency Cares.

"Regency Cares, a nonprofit organization, was created to help healthcare workers affected by Hurricane Katrina," said Kelly Laughlin, Vice President of Communications. "Our efforts to raise money for the foundation are ongoing and persistent."

The foundation continues to raise money to specifically help healthcare workers in times of natural disaster. Continued financial help is needed and the foundation continues to secure donations for these needs.

One such fundraiser the foundation has implemented is the Regency Cares Cookbook. The cookbook has over 800 recipes submitted by Regency Hospital employees, vendors and friends. The cookbooks can be purchased for $20 on the foundation website www.regencycares.com. The proceeds will be given to continue to help meet the needs of those medical personnel affected by Hurricane Katrina and other natural disasters.

The Regency Cares Foundation is a 501C(3) nonprofit organization.
