The Council was founded in May 2005 by members of the diamond and gold jewellery supply chain, and aims to promote responsible ethical, social and environmental practices throughout the diamond and gold jewellery supply chain.
It will be holding a seminar in early December 2005 to provide feedback on the consolidated responses.
Responsible Jewellery Council is an international non-profit organization that promotes responsible ethical, social and environmental practices throughout the diamond and gold jewellery supply chain from mine to retail. RJC has developed a Responsible Practices Framework, the RJC Certification System, an initiative that requires members to maintain high responsible business practices, which will be monitored by independent accredited auditors.
