Submitted by Responsible Jewellery Council

The Council for Responsible Jewellery Practices is seeking views on its mission, membership and draft Statement of Principles, which set out ethical, social and environmental standards the Council believes are 'indispensable to maintaining consumer confidence in the diamond and gold jewellery supply chain'.

You can complete the web-based survey, which is open until 30th September 2005, on the Council's website at: http://www.responsiblejewellery.com/consultation.html.

You can also see http://www.responsiblejewellery.com for details of a further survey on the draft Code of Practices in September and October 2005.

The Council was founded in May 2005 by members of the diamond and gold jewellery supply chain, and aims to promote responsible ethical, social and environmental practices throughout the diamond and gold jewellery supply chain.

It will be holding a seminar in early December 2005 to provide feedback on the consolidated responses.
