NEW YORK CITY, NY - February 26, 2008 - Starbucks, IBM, Nike, Levi Straus & Co, C-TPAT, PRCEE will join senior level speakers from Rainforest Alliance, Philips and Nestlé and many more at the Ethical Sourcing Forum 2008, on the 13th-14th of March in New York City.
Virginia Bergin, Regional Manager, Sustainable Procurement Practices of Starbucks Coffee Company will share practical off the ground experience on engaging with suppliers to implement factory level improvement plans. Mrs Bergin will offer insights on Starbucks’ remediation approach of teaching factories how to identify root causes and find solutions that work best for them.
Miriam Y. Rodriguez,Levi Strauss & Co’s Code of Conduct Regional Manager, will echo Starbucks's case study and discuss Levi's Sustainable Factory Remediation Plans. Mrs Rodriguez will highlight how Levi's engages with its suppliers to overcome compliance shortcomings using tools and methods such as brand collaboration, capacity building.
With climate change still high on the political and corporate agenda, Shen Xiaoyue, Policy Research Center for Environment and Economy (PRCEE) in China will update us on trade and investment related environmental policies to enter China.
