October 3, 2007 - In September 2007 Volkswagen has published its new Group Sustainability Report 2007/2008: 'We are moving into the future responsibly'.

The report illustrates how the Volkswagen Group and its individual employees are facing future challenges of sustainability, focusing on responsibility while enhancing the group’s strong market position with innovative products, now and in the longer term.

Volkswagen views sustainability as an opportunity to demonstrate the long-term innovative and competitive abilities of the organisation. The big questions regarding climate change, the shortage of fossil fuels and sustainable mobility demand new approaches by Volkswagen, as well as increasingly efficient technologies and innovative products.

For Volkswagen, sustainability also means treating the Group's 325,000 employees worldwide responsibly, and demands long-term beneficial relationships for all parties with their business partners, suppliers, investors, neighbours and customers.

The report has attained Global Reporting Initiative application level 'A+' - the best classification in a complex evaluation system. This achievement underscores Volkswagen's high standards in sustainability reporting. This comprehensive insight into Volkswagen's activities towards sustainable development worldwide has been independently assured by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
