Springfield, MA--January 15, 2007 --On January 5, 2007, Go FIT, Inc.© rounded the corner on a second year business cycle in one of the fastest high growth industries in the nation, benefiting an unlikely and equally fast growing phenomenon; underprivileged youth and young women. The program was awarded the Presidents’ Daily Point of Light Award in national recognition of its efforts to make a commitment to connect Americans through service to help meet critical needs in the community and in the nation in July, 2006.

To further mark the second year anniversary, an angel investor celebrated the program’s success with a $25,000 contribution to continue the work. Go FIT President and Founder, Susan Jaye-Kaplan is appealing to other philanthropists and socially responsive corporations to follow this lead and continue a health and fitness trend that is determined to improve healthy outcomes in depressed neighborhoods. According to the U.S. Surgeon General, babies born today are unlikely to continue the healthy lifespan of their parents and will more likely succumb prematurely to preventable death and disability sooner than any generation in the last 100 years.

Go FIT, Inc.© is responding with a simple program based on an innovative concept yielding powerful results. The walk-to-run and circuit training program packs up and hits the streets running, meeting youth where they live and learn; in their school gymnasiums and at community centers in their neighborhoods. The program is free to all participants and includes free running shoes, socks, t-shirts, water bottles, healthy snacks, journals and most importantly, lasting positive mentorship.

Public and privately held corporations have partnered with Go FIT, Inc since its inception by providing capital, program incentives and leveraging funds such as Reebok International, Health New England, Yankee Candle, United Bank, Western New England College, Bay Path College and American Saw. The program is looking to corporate investors to continue and expand successful growth.
