FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 16, 2007--Covansys Corporation (Nasdaq:CVNS), a global consulting and technology services company, today announced that the Company's founder, president and chief executive officer, Raj Vattikuti, received the Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship from The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars of the Smithsonian Institution at a dinner held on Thursday, February 8, 2007, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Dearborn, Michigan.

The Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship is given to executives who have shown a deep concern for the common good by their examples and business practices. Recipients recognized play a significant role in improving society, while at the same time advancing the long-term interests of their firms, employees, and shareholders.

"I am a great admirer of the Woodrow Wilson Center and its dedication to facilitating serious dialogue on the issues that face our communities, both here in the U.S. and abroad," said Mr. Vattikuti. "The Center's recognition of my efforts is truly humbling, and I very much appreciate the opportunity to have been chosen as a recipient."

Lee Hamilton, president and director of the Woodrow Wilson Center said that "Detroit and the State of Michigan have benefited greatly from Mr. Vattikuti's corporate, civic, and cultural accomplishments, and I am very pleased the Center has had the opportunity to recognize his contributions with this award."

In his address, Mr. Vattikuti acknowledged significant accomplishments during his 32 year career of which he is proud. One milestone was having had an integral role in the transformation of the Information Technology industry and the way companies do business in the global marketplace.

Another accomplishment was having had the ability to give back to the Detroit community that gave him the necessary opportunities to succeed. Mr. Vattikuti and his wife, Padma, through their family foundation, support numerous outreach programs and have partnered with Beaumont Hospitals and Henry Ford Health Systems to advance progress in prostate and breast cancer awareness, research and treatment. Included in their outreach efforts, the Vattikuti's are actively involved in the Microfinance Program in India that teaches and empowers underprivileged women to become self sufficient.

"We hope to continue to be actively involved with communities where our contributions and time make such a powerful and lasting impact on society," said Mr. Vattikuti. "Our successes and the ability to give back to our community have been tremendously rewarding and we believe that it is our duty to give back without attachment."

Mr. Vattikuti closed by quoting the late President Woodrow Wilson: "You are not here merely to make a living . . . You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand."
