ORLANDO, FL "“ March 29, 2007 "“ Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc., in a coordinated effort with the largest hotel property in Central Florida, the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort & Convention Center, will be surprising 50 youngsters from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Florida with shiny new bikes and helmets today. It will be the result of 250 hotel executives taking part in the annual Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. General Managers Conference and Best In Classâ„¢ Awards program being held at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort & Convention Center, which is owned by Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. The general managers are participating in a team building competition at Universal Studios where they are competing for points to win prizes. The prizes, however, will not be for the winners; rather, they’ll go to local children from the Orlando area.

"What is most exciting is that the surprise is two-fold. The children coming here today have no idea that they are about to get new bicycles; the general managers competing today have no idea that their prizes will be providing these special gifts to the children," said Tim Swan, director of sales and marketing at the Orlando World Center Marriott. "We’re all looking forward to seeing the smiles on their faces."

Another special aspect of the event is the presentation itself. Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. flew in a special member of its team, James Tate, from the headquarters office in Bethesda, Maryland.

Mr. Tate is a member of the Information Technology department and a long time volunteer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington and the District of Columbia Parks and Recreation.

"Our company values of excellence, partnership, integrity and community are critical to our success and this event is about our connection with our Community," said Christopher J. Nassetta, president and chief executive officer of Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. "We are proud to have James here today as one of our representatives in the community, giving these gifts to the children on behalf of the Company."

The children participating in this event encompass 25 boys and 25 girls, ages 7 to 11, from Cypress Park Elementary School and Taft Boys & Girls Club. Upon arrival at the resort's front entrance at 3:30 p.m., they will be escorted to the resort's Crystal Ballroom for the surprise award presentation.
