ATHENS, GREECE- June 17, 2008 - We cordially invite you to attend the presentation of the EuroCharity Yearbook 2007 entitled "The Spirit of the Forest: How the business community responded with positive actions to Greece's catastrophic forest fires in summer 2007", to be held at the University of Indianapolis Cultural Centre (Goulandris-Horn Foundation) in Plaka, Athens on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 19:00.

Ms. Katerina Christofilidou, anchor of SKAI TV's "ECO NEWS" environmental newscast, will moderate EuroCharity's book presentation.

Touching on Greece's disastrous forest fires, "The Spirit of the Forest" particularly focuses on how the business community responded to last year's horrific catastrophes and crisis with positive, voluntary and restorative actions, such as providing assistance, making in-kind and financial donations, mobilising staff, offering services free of charge, giving shelter to fire victims, rebuilding their homes and villages in fire-stricken areas, getting involved in reforestation programmes, tree-planting activities with the participation of employees, etc.

Printed and edited by Livanis Publishing Organisation, Greece's leading publicly-listed publishing house, EuroCharity's special Yearbook showcases numerous voluntary activities during last year's crisis as well as post-fire actions of companies, organisations and EuroCharity members in Greece, including ALDEMAR HOTELS & SPA, ALPHA BANK, NATONAL BANK OF GREECE, BP HELLAS, the COCA-COLA system in Greece, COSMOTE, INTERAMERICAN (EUREKO Group), LAMDA DEVELOPMENT, T T HELLENIC POSTBANK, HERACLES GROUP OF COMPANIES (LAFARGE Group), HALYPS BUILDING MATERIALS (ITALCEMENTI Group) and GEFYRA.

Apart from these corporate presentations, EuroCharity's Greek-language yearbook features messages of important personalities, viewpoints of specialists, citizen-sector leaders, as well as scientific research that analyses last year's crisis with facts and statistics. It also contains special messages by His All Holiness, BARTHOLOMEW, Archbishop of Constantinople, New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch, H.E. Stavros Dimas, European Commissoner for Environment, H.E. Mr. Dimitris Christofias, President of the Republic of Cyprus, H.E. Mr. Daniel V. Speckhard, U.S. Ambassador to Greece, H.E. Mr. Aris Spiliotopoulos, Minister of Tourism Development, Mr. Spyros Kouvelis, Member of the Hellenic Parliament, former MedWed Co-ordinator and the PA.SO.K. party's secretary for environmental and physical planning issues, Mr. Kyriakos K. Mitsotakis, Member of the Hellenic Parliament and President of the Environmental Protection Committee of the Hellenic Parliament, and Prefects of fire-stricken prefectures.

In addition, EuroCharity's landmark publication includes dramatic photographs, a number of forewords and practical tips on how to prevent such unprecedented wildfires in future.

This limited-edition book will not be available in bookstores but only through the companies and organisations that are included in the publication, as well as via EuroCharity. It will also be distributed at selected conferences, exhibitions and events in Greece in which EuroCharity is involved as (co-)organiser or on-line Media Partner.
