PROVIDING A GLIMPSE INTO THE FUTURE OF THE US CARBON EMISSIONS MARKET

CHICAGO/GENEVA/COLOGNE/WASHINGTON/OTTAWA - September 25, 2007 -
CARBON FORUM AMERICA, a joint venture between the International Emission Trading Association (IETA) and the trade fair organizer Koelnmesse announced a comprehensive, in depth conference program consisting of three main conference tracks with a total of 22 sessions. The conference categories are built around three thematic blocks well suited to shape the emerging North American Carbon Emission Industry: Policy, Marketplace and Technology.

The partners have organized a series of successful Carbon events in the past, among them are Carbon Expo in Cologne, Germany and Carbon Expo Asia in Beijing, as well as the forthcoming Carbon Forum Asia that will be held in Singapore this November. Carbon Forum America will take place from 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. on February 26th and February 27, 2008 in the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

The conference keynote panels will take a close look at California's landmark AB32 legislation, and movement toward a Federal GHG Cap-and-Trading Program.

The "Policy Stream" session will investigate existing carbon-market programs and prominent policy issues in an effort to outline the development of a regulatory carbon market in the US. Sessions related to the "Market Stream" will cover the complete business side of operating carbon markets. The content will focus on investments, strategies, compliance, legal, and accounting issues needed to successfully operate in a carbon-constrained world. Alternative sources of energy, renewable energy, ways to lower carbon generation and ways to use energy more efficiently will be addressed in the workshops related to the "Technology Stream".

Carbon Forum America is more than a conference; it is the only industry event in the Carbon Emission industry to combine a conference program with a trade show. A first conference schedule outlining the sessions and speakers will be posted in October 2007 at www.carbonforumamerica.com.
