Avon, Hewlett-Packard And Intel To Be Honored At Corporate Conscience Awards Tonight

NEW YORK, New York - Social Accountability International (SAI) today announced the winners of the 16th Annual Corporate Conscience Awards (CCA). The awards will be presented at a gala ceremony in New York City at the Crowne Plaza - Times Square hotel. These awards recognize outstanding examples of businesses that respect the rights and promote the well being of stakeholders.

“The Corporate Conscience Awards use rigorous, independent research to identify outstanding social and environmental initiatives by businesses worldwide,” said Alice Tepper Marlin, President of SAI.

The 2002 award winners are: Great Workplace Award, Intel (USA); SA8000 Implementation Award, Avon Products, Inc. (USA); Environmental Stewardship Award, Shaklee (USA); Innovative Partnership Award, Hewlett Packard (Brazil); Innovative Partnership Award, Tomra Systems (Norway); SA8000 Implementation Award, Prem Durai Exports (India) and Switcher SA (Switzerland); and Overall Corporate Responsibility Performance Award, Co-operative Bank.
