As part of its 2007 Charitable Giving Program, 'Doing Well by Doing Good', PR Newswire employees select a charity located in an area in which the company has substantial operations for which they will volunteer as a group and to which the company will make a cash donation. The University of New Mexico Children's Hospital, a facility dedicated providing the most advanced neonatal and pediatric care in New Mexico, has already benefited from the volunteer efforts of local PR Newswire staff.

"PR Newswire's staff have been extremely gracious with their time," said Julia Grimes, director, UNM Children's Hospital Child Life program. "And I've heard nothing but rave reviews of PR Newswire's participation in the arts and crafts day and the Halloween party we put on for the children. We are also extremely grateful for PR Newswire's generous grant."

Judy Lochrie, PR Newswire's Albuquerque-based Charitable Giving Advocate commented on the time local PR Newswire staff spent at the Children's Hospital, "It was delightful to watch each PR Newswire volunteer connect with a child. I personally spoke with many parents who expressed how grateful they were to have PR Newswire volunteers spend time with their children, and how important it was to the children and the parents alike. This was truly a fulfilling experience and I look forward to continuing our work with the Children's Hospital."

"As a company with global operations and staff working in cities all around the world, it's important to us to give back to the community in which we work," said Charles Gregson, chief executive officer, PR Newswire. "We found through research that as much as charities are seeking financial assistance to provide services, they are also extremely interested in finding dedicated volunteers. With this knowledge we designed a program that gave our staff a voice in the charity selection in order to maximize the volunteer participation. The University of New Mexico Children's Hospital is an extraordinarily worthy facility and we are very pleased to be able to assist them in their work."

PR Newswire provides assistance to non-profit organizations in a number of different ways including through direct grants, volunteerism, in-kind donations and sponsorships. PR Newswire also matches employee fundraising, volunteering and individual donations.
