NEW YORK, NY - May 14, 2008 - The National Academy Foundation (NAF) recently announced its partnership with Kelly Engineering Resources, a highly specialized business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., to benefit its 13 Academies of Engineering (AOEs). Launching in the fall of 2008, the AOEs are a partnership with NAF, Project Lead the Way, Inc., and the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering.

"The National Academy Foundation is pleased to be working with Kelly Services to ensure that high school students across the country receive the critical mentoring, internships and industry support they need to be exposed to careers in engineering," said J D Hoye, president of the National Academy Foundation. "NAF's model of career academies at the high school level has been proven to be successful for 25 years, thanks in part to partnerships like our new one with Kelly Services."

Through this partnership, Kelly Engineering Resources will support the AOEs with a monetary grant to enrich the educational experience of students by enabling educators to pursue new ideas, create innovative programs and fund special events to enhance the curriculum. Kelly will also provide externships to NAF educators, enabling them to share current work practices and experiences in the classroom. Additionally, Kelly employees will serve as AOEs Advisory Board members to support strategic planning and internship opportunities for students, and to provide professional support for the Academies and educators working with NAF.

"We're delighted to partner with NAF and the Academies of Engineering which provide a critical pathway for high school students to receive rigorous academic training in high-demand sectors, to pursue higher education opportunities and to interact with high-level corporate executives and mentors," said Tim McAward, vice president and business unit leader of Kelly Engineering Resources. "We look forward to supporting the important work of NAF and its academies to empower high school students in their pursuit of educational excellence."
