ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - July 10, 2008 - IHS Inc. (NYSE:IHS), a leading global source of critical information and insight, today announced the release of ecoAsset Manager 10.1 "“ software for emission allowance and credit (ecoAssets) portfolio management. ecoAsset Manager Version 10.1 provides full integration with IHS ESP ops(TM) solutions for environmental data management to now support end-to-end emissions information management for large enterprises, from verifiable emissions calculations to emissions allowance and credit portfolio management.

"With the rapid evolution of greenhouse gas cap and trade legislation worldwide, we believe that this enhanced version of ecoAsset Manager sets the standard for solutions of this type and demonstrates our commitment to continuing to deliver the best functionality in emissions allowance program management support," said Mark Wysong, IHS vice president, environment. "Emissions allowances have tremendous value within corporations, and as such, they necessitate proper systems for auditable and verifiable record keeping. With the burgeoning emissions trading programs, we are now seeing a corresponding increase in demand for this type of critical information and insight for carbon emissions and allowances as well."

The IHS ESP ecoAsset Manager solution has been in use since 1994, helping companies manage emission allowance and credit programs in an auditable manner. A completely browser-based solution, ecoAsset Manager Version 10.1 now seamlessly handles emissions allowances and credits from various programs around the world, including the U.S. Acid Rain Program SO2 Allowances, the EU Emissions Trading Program CO2 Allowances and the Australia Greenhouse Challenge Program. The application also lets companies manage complete emissions allowance portfolios across the enterprise in one environment, including allowance allocation, market trading and settlement and end-of-year registry reconciliation.

In addition, ecoAsset Manager Version 10.1 addresses recent U.S. Environmental Protection Agency registry changes from unit accounts to facility accounts by allowing U.S.-based users to maintain facility accounts while still being able to designate allowances for co-owners on different units at that facility. It also allows customers to track their allowances in a similar format while still supporting complex co-ownership allowance management. Additional changes include the ability for users to easily export reports into Microsoft Excel, and the ability to support Crystal Reports XI. To facilitate large enterprise use, ecoAsset Manager Version 10.1 now also supports Microsoft Active Directory.
