Life is good Pumpkin Festivals in Seven States Bring Hope to Kids in Need

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- While the economic crisis reaches families across the country, Newland Communities(R) and Life is good(R) are holding the third annual Life is good Pumpkin Festivals (http://newlandpumpkinfestival.com/), offering a day of free, fun activities, all in the name of raising funds for kids in need.
"These festivals were created to rally good people around a great cause. This year, more than any other, we want to celebrate community with a day of entertainment that also furthers a great cause -- supporting children in need," said Bert Jacobs, CEO of Life is good(R).
This October, Pumpkin Festivals will be held in eight Newland communities nationwide. Each festival invites communities to come together for a day of good old-fashioned fun with pumpkin carving, face painting, food and games. All Festival proceeds raised through public contributions and the sale of Life is good(R) tee shirts and merchandise benefit the Life is good Kids Foundation who will split the funds raised equally between HomeAid (http://www.homeaid.org) and Project Joy (http://www.projectjoy.com). Since 2006, the Pumpkin Festivals have raised nearly $1 million for non-profit organizations.
Newland communities hosting Pumpkin Festivals on October 25 include: 4S Ranch (San Diego), FishHawk Ranch (Tampa), Estrella (Goodyear, Ariz.), Cinco Ranch (Katy, Texas), Sterling on the Lake (Flowery Branch, Ga.), Ladysmith Village (Ruther Glen, Va.) and Clarksburg Town Center (Clarksburg, Md.). The festival at Whitney Ranch (Rocklin, Calif.) will be held on Oct. 18.
