SAN JOSE, CA - February 23, 2009 Entrepreneurs Foundation (EF) celebrates member companies for their achievements in corporate philanthropy in honor of International Corporate Philanthropy Day. This day, organized by the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP), raises awareness of philanthropic efforts by corporations, and also aims to motivate more corporate giving to the community. The celebration of this day is aligned with EF’s mission to develop corporate citizenship and philanthropic efforts that leverage resources and generate maximum community benefit. Since inception, EF member companies have generated over $16 million in community benefit in the form of volunteer time, in-kind contributions, employee donations, and company donations
"Entrepreneurs Foundation is thrilled to join the CECP in celebrating International Corporate Philanthropy Day. Through our work with companies of all sizes to facilitate corporate philanthropy and community involvement programs, EF is able to see the benefit both to the community, as well as to our member companies. For our private company members, a spirit of corporate citizenship strengthens their culture from an early stage and for our public company members, it is inspiring to help them consistently pursue the next level of corporate social responsibility. Companies play a vital role to strengthen communities. We are proud to celebrate the philanthropic efforts of corporations through International Corporate Philanthropy Day." states Diane Solinger, Executive Director, Entrepreneurs Foundation.
CECP has planned events for International Corporate Philanthropy Day that include their annual 'Board of Boards' CEO Conference, ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange, a special discussion at the United Nations around Millenium Development Goals, and lighting the Empire State Building in the colors of International Corporate Philanthropy Day. Corporate Giving officers use this day as an occasion to promote their philanthropic efforts internally and to the public. In addition to joining in this day of celebration, Entrepreneurs Foundation also recognizes corporations at the annual 'Powered by EF' reception where, in 2008, LiveOps was awarded Company of the Year, LoopNet received Impact of the Year, and DemandTec was recognized as Rookie of the Year.
Entrepreneurs Foundation applauds the efforts of all corporations in their giving initiatives, and in forming community partnerships. On this day, and every day, EF celebrates the integral role of corporations in finding creative and impactful ways to insure that the communities in which they live and work are sustained.
