WATERBURY, Vt.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 23, 2005--Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. (NASDAQ: GMCR) is a recipient of a 2005 Green Power Leadership Award for its commitment to purchasing renewable energy. The annual awards, presented during the Green Power Marketing Conference, are sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and the Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) to recognize organizations whose actions help advance the development of the nation's green power market.

The Green Power Leadership Awards for green power purchasers is a component of the U.S. EPA's Green Power Partnership, a voluntary pro gram providing technical assistance and public recognition to organizations that switch to green power for a portion of their electricity needs. The purchaser awards fall into three categories:

On-site Generation, Green Power Purchasing, and Green Power Partner of the Year.

The Green Power Purchasing award was presented to Green Mountain Coffee Roasters after a panel of eight judges reviewed nearly 70 nominations based on criteria ranging from the amount of renewable electricity purchased or generated to each organization's strategy for incorporating green power into its operations and communications.

"We applaud Green Mountain Coffee for its environmental leadership," said Kurt Johnson, director of EPA's Green Power Partnership. "The company is providing an outstanding example for others to follow."

Paul Comey, Vice President of Environmental Affairs at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters said, "We are proud of what we have accomplished relating to our power needs, and we look forward to working with others to continue to use our shared energy resources in a sustainable manner."

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters recently achieved its goal of 100 percent carbon neutral operations through renewable energy purchases.

In addition to addressing electricity usage, the company has also offset the environmental effects of fossil fuel use for roasting its coffee, delivery of products by company-owned vehicles, heating its facilities, business travel and employee commuting.

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. is a leader in the specialty coffee industry and offers over 100 coffee selections including estate, certified organic, Fair Trade Certified(TM), signature blends, and flavored coffees that it sells under the Green Mountain Coffee
Roasters(R) and Newman's Own(R) Organics brands. While the majority of Green Mountain Coffee's revenue is derived from its wholesale operations, the Company also operates a direct mail business and an e-commerce website (www.GreenMountainCoffee.com) from its Waterbury, Vermont headquarters. Each year the Company contributes at least five percent of its pre-tax profits to support socially responsible initiatives. Based on its performance, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters has been recognized for the past six years as one of Forbes Magazine's "200 Best Small Companies," for the past three years in the top ten on Business Ethics magazine's list of "100 Best Corporate Citizens," and for the past two years as one of the Society of Human Resource Management's "Best Medium Companies to Work for in America."

Integration. Commitment. Accountability.

Welcome to the Keurig Green Mountain, Inc. (Keurig) fiscal 2014 sustainability report. At Keurig, we have blended the disruptive innovation of a leading-edge technology company with the consumer focus of a socially conscious, premium beverage company. We’re proud of our integrity, innovation, and growth over more than three decades. We aim to “brew a better world,” using the power of business to make the world a better place.

This report highlights our most recent sustainability initiatives, including our work toward our 2020 sustainability targets. Our work focuses on three key areas: creating a Resilient Supply Chain, innovation of Sustainable Products, and support for Thriving People and Communities. We’ve created a fourth section of the report this year that addresses Water Stewardship, a cross-cutting topic that spans all of our focus areas. With this report, we are announcing a new target to balance the water used in our 2020 brewed beverage volume of all our beverages, ounce for ounce. In other words, for every cup our consumers brew, we will restore the same amount of water for natural and community uses through projects in North America.
