Savers, Inc. Teams with Charity Trucks for Nonprofit Marketing Program

Partnership provides cost savings opportunities to more than 120 nonprofit partner organizations across U.S. and Canada

Retail thrift pioneer, Savers, Inc. today announced a partnership with Charity Trucks, a Canadian-based marketing company whose mission is to unite advertisers with nonprofit organizations that utilize box trucks in everyday operations. The agreement offers Charity Trucks access to Savers' more than 120 North American nonprofit partners, and in turn, those organizations automatically qualify for Charity Trucks' Community Partner marketing program.

There are more than 240 Savers, Value Village, and Village des Valeurs stores across the U.S. and Canada, and every location has a unique nonprofit partner in its community, such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Arc, The Epilepsy Foundation, or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Each store pays its nonprofit partner for every used item donated, which include clothing, housewares, furniture and more. Partners are paid for donations collected directly by the nonprofit "“ a procurement process that relies heavily on the use of box trucks "“ or at the Community Donation Center, located on-site at the Savers, Inc. stores. These partnerships turn otherwise unused goods into sustainable funding that supports the nonprofits' programs and services right in the local community.

Through Charity Trucks' Community Partner marketing program, costs associated with leasing and maintaining box trucks are offset for participating nonprofit organizations, freeing up valuable funds that can be used toward increasing visibility and production. Once the trucks are "sponsored," Charity Trucks retrofits them so that most of the physical area on the exterior can be sold as media space to corporate advertisers. Additionally, the nonprofit's logo and tagline will still remain on the trucks, providing a positive affinity for all advertisers.

"This new partnership with Charity Trucks is good all around, for our company and our network of nonprofit partners,' said Tony Shumpert, Savers' Vice President of Supply Chain Operations. "With the opportunity to cut transportation costs, our partners can focus more energy on collecting the donated goods that Savers purchases from them. More donations means more funding for our partners, as well as more selection of value-priced goods for our customers."

Since the agreement took effect, Charity Trucks has welcomed one of Savers' larger nonprofit partners into its marketing program. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Okanagan recently joined the partnership, with Charity Trucks now sponsoring five box trucks. Already advertisers such as Nature's Fare Markets and Touchpoint Advertising Agency have bought space on the retrofitted vehicles.

"Charity Trucks offers a unique turnkey opportunity to corporate advertisers across North America to promote their brand and increase their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) profile, simultaneously," said Bill McIntosh, Founder, President & CEO Charity Trucks Inc.
