SCHAUMBURG, IL – April 17, 2008 – The Motorola Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT), today announced a grant of $100,000 to the American Institutes for Research to support its Enter Jovem program to increase the employability of disadvantaged youth in Brazil. This initiative strengthens Motorola Brazil's corporate citizenship program, which focuses on education.

Since 2003, the American Institutes for Research has worked with Brazilian organizations to implement the Enter Jovem employability and technology program, which provides job and life-skills training for Brazilians ages 16-24. Nearly 4,200 youth have completed training for jobs in market-driven areas, with an emphasis in information and communication technology. In addition to job skills, Enter Jovem provides participating youth with life-skills training, with workshops on résumé writing, job application preparation, interview skills and job search techniques, as well as on ethics, civic values and codes of conduct in the workplace.

"Motorola has a long-standing tradition of supporting inspiring and worthwhile programs like the Enter Jovem project," said Enrique Ussher, Motorola Brazil country manager. "We are proud to support education-based youth initiatives that make a difference in people's lives and in the communities where Motorola operates."

"Citizenship action such as this is extremely important to ensure that, more and more, young people are prepared when they reach the work market. By September this year, some 2,600 people will have benefited from the project, and Motorola's participation is fundamental to guarantee that this process will continue for a long time", says Tanya Andrade, director of Enter Jovem.
