STRATHAM, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 31, 2006--Timberland today announced the availability of the 2005 Corporate Social Responsibility Report to all stakeholders, industry leaders and consumers. The report outlines operations, product development and supply chain improvements the company has made over the last year and details community involvement programs from around the world.

"In 2005, we demonstrated to our stakeholders and the industry that we are committed to improving our processes by ensuring we continuously seek ways to run our business in the most responsible manner possible," said Jeffrey Swartz, Timberland's President and CEO.

"We want to continue to make it better - and we want consumers to demand that from us and other companies they do business with."

Highlights from this year's report, titled "Our 2005 Footprint,"
include:

  • Focus on Timberland's efforts in four specific areas: global
human rights, environmental stewardship, community involvement
    and employee engagement

  • Key Performance Indicators which compare 2005 actuals and 2006
targets for our social and environmental initiatives

  • A new feature called "Voices of Challenge" which offers
commentary and analysis on corporate CSR efforts by the
leaders of Patagonia, The Home Depot, Seventh Generation,
    Levi's and Harlem Children's Zone

  • An updated list of addresses for Timberland factories
    worldwide

Following the publication of the 2004 CSR Report, Timberland requested feedback from its stakeholders and incorporated much of that in this edition. As a result, the 2005 report includes a more in-depth picture of Timberland's business model, information about its public policies and shows how CSR efforts may contribute to a company's performance. In addition, through its membership in Ceres, a national coalition focused on the challenges associated with global climate change, the 2005 CSR Report was also formally reviewed by Ceres stakeholders.

The report is available in two formats:

  • A 70-page PDF at www.timberland.com/csrreport

  • A 30-page hard copy condensed version that can be requested by
    emailing csrinfo@timberland.com
