Company is Guided by the Belief that Product Decisions Must be Made for the Next Generation
Racine, Wis. - SC Johnson Chairman and CEO Fisk Johnson appears in a new family advertising campaign that communicates to consumers SC Johnson's long-standing commitment to the environment and to the health of the families who use the company's products.
As expected, SC Johnson's trusted brands like Shout®, Ziploc®, Windex® and Pledge® are represented in the ad, while the spot features Johnson talking about the company's commitment to evaluating the safety and environmental impact of the ingredients that go into its products.
"The families who buy our products are on my mind every single day," said Johnson in the advertisement. "We're constantly evaluating all the ingredients that go into our products to make them safer for your family and better for the environment for generations to come."
In evaluating the raw materials that go into the company's products, SC Johnson uses its patented Greenlist process. In 2001, SC Johnson devised the environmental classification system to transform the way the company measures, tracks and continues to advance its products to ensure the company's longstanding commitment to environmentally responsible products. This past year, SC Johnson's Greenlist was honored with a Presidential Award for corporate leadership and also the Presidential Green Chemistry Award. Greenlist is the company's most recent voluntary innovation to safeguard our shared environment and goes beyond regulatory requirements to meet the company's high standards for product formulation.
When consumers go to the shelf to choose any of SC Johnson's products, they trust that the raw materials in for example, a can of Scrubbing Bubbles® Bathroom Cleaner or a bottle of Shout® Soil and Stain Remover, have been evaluated for their environmental impact. Because of the Greenlist process, consumers get a more environmentally responsible product along with the performance excellence they trust and expect from SC Johnson.
Environmental commitment is nothing new for SC Johnson. For 120 years, the company has held steadfast to its environmental commitment and spirit of innovation. From being a pioneer in the introduction of water-based aerosols in 1955 to its leadership as the first company to remove chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) from all aerosol products - three years ahead of the 1978 U.S. mandate - SC Johnson continues to look for innovative ways to safeguard our shared environment.
