Web-based task and time management system now offers key support for non US currencies and date formats

SANTA BARBARA, CA— May 8, 2007 —Pelago announced today the latest upgrade to Intervals, its flagship time and task management system. In quick response to growing numbers of international customers, Intervals has evolved to meet the needs of the international community. Intervals now supports the local currency, time, and date formats of 53 different geographical areas on five continents.

"The international support upgrade really opens up our market," said Braden Jones, Pelago’s CEO. "Now, professionals outside the United States can personalize Intervals to the work environment they’re used to, and that makes a big difference in the overall user experience."

Intervals' international support means that non-US companies can stop worrying about missed or miscommunicated deadlines and other critical matters due to the wrong date format, meetings falling through because of miscalculated time zone differences, or accounting errors caused by misplaced decimal points. And because Intervals is hosted software, international businesses can be up and running in minutes, at any time of day.

Since Intervals is all about tracking time and the monetary value it represents for businesses billing on an hourly basis, customers can now set hourly rates and manage budgets directly in their own currencies.

In the hosted web software space catering to small businesses, Intervals is one of the few applications designed primarily for small business that supports non US currencies and date/time formats. "International support for enterprise software applications is pretty common, but most of the solutions developed for small business focus exclusively on the US market," said Michael Payne, Chief Architect of Intervals and a co-founder of Pelago.

"The US accounts for only 21% of all Internet users, and almost 50% of our customers are based overseas, so this is a very natural progression," added Payne. "We're placing a heavy emphasis on ensuring that our international clientele are properly taken care of." And that makes Intervals not only a forward-looking, but also globally minded, service.
