China Center for Law and Environment Focus on Supporting a Greener Supply Chain and Announce the Support of Environmental Expertise

BEIJING - August 22, 2007 - The China Center for Labor and Environment has announced the appointment of two environmental experts to support the Center's commitment to the exchange of knowledge, experience and good practice in the promotion of environmental friendly manufacturing.

Ms. Shen Xiaoyue and Dr. Chen Sai are China governmental specialists, coming from the Policy Research Center for Environment and Economy (PRCEE) of China's State Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA).

Ms. Shen Xiaoyue currently holds the posts of Director and Senior Researcher of the Environmental Law division at SEPA's PRCEE, where she has served for over ten years advising on policy and leading research. Ms. Shen has led and contributed to dozens of national and international environmental projects under the WTO, SEPA, PRC Ministry of Science and Technology, China National Offshore Development Research Center, China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development, World Bank, and Asian Development Bank.

Dr. Chen Sai serves as Senior Researcher of SEPA's PRCEE in addition to taking up the role as advisor with the China Center for Labor and Environment. She is engaged in research and revision of current and forthcoming China legislation, including the Environmental Protection Law, Law on Control and Prevention of Solid Waste, Law of Circular Economy, and others.

Dr. Chen has also participated in development of the national implementation scheme for the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants and research for the Guangdong Province Environmental Protection Plan.
