August 31, 2007 - NEC Corporation has released its fourth Annual CSR Report and its first CSR Digest, which incorporate NEC's CSR-related practices and performance results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2007, available via http://www.reportalert.info/ra/NEC310807.htm
Through CSR activities and innovation, NEC strives to contribute to the solving of social issues as a good corporate citizen, fulfilling its compliance and economic responsibilities for the sustainable development of its businesses and society.
NEC's Annual CSR Report for 2007 provides an in-depth overview of its CSR-related activities, including corporate governance (ethics and compliance, risk management and information security) and initiatives taken in response to the interests of all of NEC's stakeholders. A unified format has been adopted for policy, framework, practices, training, monitoring, objectives and achievements, and key performance indicators, which are established based on GRI G3 guidelines. The International Institute for Human, Organization and the Earth gives an independent review.
For the first time, NEC has created a CSR Digest highlighting seven CSR initiatives material to it and its stakeholders from the point of view of its CSR theme "Realizing a secure, reliable ubiquitous networking society." The initiatives are:
