GE, Wal-Mart, and Yahoo join Aveda, Herman Miller and others coming to New Orleans for Sustainable Brands ’07 Conference
BURLINGAME, CA - July 31, 2007 - Sustainable Life Media announced today the launch of Sustainable Brands '07, a new B2B conference focused on helping the mainstream business community learn from the leaders how to build and communicate about their sustainable brands.
"The rush to green is on! Green is the new black." Said Robert Knott, EVP of PR giant Edelman recently. As a member of the team behind GE's high profile Ecomagination campaign, he and client Peter O'Toole, director of PR at GE, were quick to add: "It's no longer OK to put green lipstick on a pig."
Indeed, communicating about the environmental and social impact of a company's brand is rapidly becoming a competitive requirement for all sectors and sizes of American business. But before a company can tell its story, it has to have a story to tell.
Organizers of Sustainable Brands '07 aim to provide a place for leaders from corporations and their PR, advertising, creative consultants and agencies to come together to talk about the issues, challenges and best practices surrounding building and communicating their company’s environmental and social value propositions. The program will cover success stories, as well as failures, and what was learned from each. Topics on tap:
Sustainable Brands '07 will be held at the newly reopened, and already award winning Ritz Carlton Hotel at the edge of the French Quarter in New Orleans, September 26-28, with Katrina tours and volunteer opportunities being planned to extend through the weekend.
