Carole Stern Switzer, Esq. Fills Leadership Role
PHOENIX, AZ – September 5, 2007 - The Open Compliance and Ethics Group (OCEG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Carole Stern Switzer, Esq. as its new President. Ms. Switzer is a recognized leader in corporate governance, risk management, compliance and ethics (GRC). She is frequently published on these topics in leading business magazines and lectures on GRC internationally and throughout the United States.
Prior to her appointment, Ms. Switzer served as the Executive Vice-President and General Counsel of OCEG from the time it was formed by a multi-industry, multi-disciplinary group of business leaders in January of 2003. During that time, she directed development of the OCEG Framework, including the GRC capability process model referred to as the OCEG Red Book, as well as supplemental guidance within Domains addressing specific risk areas such as employment, government contracting, environmental and others. She also created and oversees the acclaimed publication 360° Perspectives on Governance, Risk Management and Compliance.
"Carole has been a key member of the OCEG team since the beginning," says Scott L. Mitchell, chairman and CEO of OCEG, "Her legal expertise in compliance and governance issues has helped to make OCEG a success and grow from zero to over 10,000 members."

Prior to joining OCEG, Ms. Switzer was a nationally recognized attorney specializing in environmental and other regulatory compliance areas. She also was a founder and principal in the endangered species mitigation banking firm, Mitigation Strategies, LLC. Ms. Switzer serves on the board of The Integrity Institute. She also has served on the Counsel of the American Bar Association Section on Environment, Energy and Resources, and has been honored by a presidential appointment to a three year term on the ABA Standing Committee on Environmental Law.
